Akon’s Konvict Music Officially Signs Wizkid

Its official! Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid leaves EME for Akon’s Konvict Music… You’d recall I reported that Wizkid has floated his own record label “Starboy Ent” locally and signed Maleek Berry amongst others to his Starboy record label. Now i can confirm to you that Wizkid has rejoined Konvict Music. Wizkid was the only reason Akon had a venture business with EME and now that he is no more there, Akon has decided to pick up from where the deal with EME ended. Although the details of the contract is still unknown. Although Akon’s Konvict financed the recording of Wizkid and Chris Brown, Wizkid, Young Jeezy and Game on the same track are the notable ones. Wizkid has also recorded track with Tinie Tempah amongst others. All financed by Konvict Music. Details of the contract might not be known for now but im sure Akon doesn’t mind Wizkid having his ownrecord label which was one of the reason’s he left EME.

An Insider opened up that Wizzy (his nickname) is at war with Banky W and EME because he wants a contract review which Banky W has refused to grant him.The source pointed out that since Ayodeji Balogun known as Wizkid signed with EME, he has been getting just 25% from whatever he gets paid to perform at any event.  EME is owned by Banky W and Segun Demuren who get 50%;
and Osagie, Wizzy's ex-manager who introduced him to Banky after big record labels like Mo-Hits
and Storm records rejected him, also got 25% from his hard earned money.

Paul Play Dairo Sues Mtn And Ultima Ltd

Paul play Dairo has gone to court for redress over the unlawful use of hit song “angel of my life” on project fame. Paul was faraway in the US last year when the song was used without proper licensing. Reliable source indicated that his intellectual property manager, Mr. Ayo Rotimi was not even aware of the situation. We gathered that calls were made to the two organisations and their responses were cold and uncooperative.
Paul Plays management contacted festus Keyamo chambers to serve both organisations the suit. It is very sad to notice that even international companies in the calibre of MTN who have benefited enormously in the Nigerian economy is found wanting in unlawful exploitation of intellectual property. Kanye West showed off his sparkling new smile on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday, courtesy of diamond and gold teeth implants on his bottom row. And no, it's not a grill, he says.

M.I and Okonjo-iweala To Speak At Harvard University

After a 3 year self- imposed hiatus due to business purposes, multiple award winning rapper M.I will on February 21, drop the first single off his upcoming album which is slated for a June release. On the 10th of February, the rapper is also slated to speak at the African Leadership conference at the prestigious Harvard University alongside Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Since his record- breaking album MI:2, MI has been appointed Vice-President for Music at Chocolate City, founded Loopy Music, been appointed an active UN ambassador for the Smuggling of Migrants and has featured in no less than seven music hits.

“I don’t have any other information except that it’s going to be beyond anyone’s imagination,” MI said in reply to a question. “Everyone just has to wait a few days for the unveiling to begin,” he added with a smile.
